your rights stop and the end of your nose ...

" You can do anything from your head to your toes, but your rights stop at the end of your nose"

I can see now, in my mind's eye, all of the children dancing around the living room to that song. As they sang and danced, I could feel their self empowerment growing inside of them. The confidence that grew out of the knowledge that they are free to do as they please (just like everyone else) as long as they didn't affect the ability of another to be free. This is what freedom is. An ability to be in the present moment feeling and thinking and believing whatever you want. Doing what you see fit, and as you can, with whatever resources you have to do it. Creating your life and space from your head to your toes and filling it with whatever is drawn to you as you see fit to choose.

With freedom comes a responsibility. Our responsibility is not only to ourselves, but to that and those we connect with, and our environment. Everything around us is not at our disposal to become victim of our whim. When your rights stop at the end of your nose, and your doing what you want from your head to your toes, everyone around you grows and glows.
I believe that 'rules' and 'laws' are supposed to be created, and intended for, the securing of the freedom of 'all' by binding those who adversely affect the many's freedom. I was a firm believer in allowing my children to choose. They did trust me and still do, so when we had opportunity to talk I would give them options, outcomes, choices, and consequences. At the moment of 'choosing' when it arose i could remind them and most often trust them to choose wisely. My youngest son though, often upon weighing the consequences of his choice, would choose freely some other seemingly random choice. I learned a lot about him and people like him. He has an extremely strong will, and can master the outcome of what he tries to accomplish. He is often the problem solver because of his ability to 'think outside the box' and 'without fear'. He is of course a child and not a mulit-million dollar oil company employing the greatest minds from science to engineering.

needs to be told NO! No more irresponsible consumer crazy Americans.

I urge my readers to be conscious of what you consume, and who you decide to make rich. Buy local and consume what you need. It is your right an responsibility to choose wisely. I believe in you. Show me how you can do the right thing.
