How to know its time to MOVE OUT of your HOME OFFICE

Back in the 90's when it was 'cool' and cutting edge some of us set the trend in 'work from home'. Anyone with ADD who needed to muti-task to survive and stay sane would focus on being organized, efficient and dedicated; and could make a living. Even when there were children under foot, buses to meet and peanut butter to clean up it was fun; but that sedated time of work focus was like a fireball of energy and productivity with purpose. After a decade and a half it's just what we do and who we are.

So as I sit here with turkey gravy staining this first draft 2011 audit report, and milk from a cereal dried to a goo on the cover of the 2012 spring project outline, I'm thinking it might be time to get out of this kitchen.




HOW TO KNOW ITS TIME TO Get out of your home office.

1. There is ever dried food stuck to a report and coffee cup rings on your binder

2. If an important client calls back on the house phone because you forgot to press #block when you left him a message, and listen to your all too unprofessional grandchildren sing a long holiday greeting on your home phone voice mail.

3. If your pet ever got the scent of surf and turf from your in-restaurant business meeting on your briefcase and went to town looking for a 'treat'

4. If the Jehovah's witnesses ever rang your door bell during a conference call.

I predict more co-op offices, or office sharing in the very near future.

A Cure for Camel Toe? ... WTF? really?

RECENT QUOTES on the topic from the'EXPERTS'

That's right, our society, our generation will be known for producing the inventors of the cure for .. no no .. not Polio, ... not rabies, .. no no .. not the flue .. but you guessed it, CAMEL TOE.

The phrase refers to the fleshy part of of a woman's pelvic area when tight, thin or clinging bottoms are worn. The 'condition' has been joked about, laughed about and posted all over the web with witty quips and quotes.

“Many women have even gone to extreme lengths to rectify the camel toe problem, resorting to expensive and risky surgery.”

No Laughing Matter

A recent quote from a prolific poster on one of my social sites says: "I wonder if Camels go around saying oh no I have p^ssy feet" and I admit it gives a giggle but is surgery going too far?

I for one am totally disgusted with the entire 'consumer mind' gotta have, gotta get, and get more. It wouldn't be so bad if our communities were not all capped off with mile high mounds of garbage! There are sure to be pounds and pounds of these babies in our land fills. I hope from the other side we get to witness our great grandchildren discovering these in our land fills. The world's leading experts in all things of the 21st century who will have been educated in the world's top schools with the highest government clearances will be standing at the podium someday describing this artifact and the horrors women put them selves through with ridiculous surgery. I hope we laugh as we peer through the veil.

Thank you to the angels that stick closer than brothers: I appreciate every person that encouraged the work we were able to accomplish. Love is such a funny thing sometimes.

Its easy to love pretty things that feel and smell and sound good, things that appeal to our senses. All of life does not always feel or smell pleasant. It is a difficult task to teach a child love because we as parents need to teach the children to love all of life.

When my children were small we lived on a dead end street and the children all played between the houses in the street. Kick ball and run the bases and that sort of thing in between weaving bikes and big wheels, a little brother often fell only to be scooped to his feet by a bigger boy, and on his way again.

Because I had so many children, and perhaps because I was hyper vigilant for all the children, I would call them all to the porch to sit and watch the garbage men come down the narrow street with the big truck. On a hot summer day there might be a box of frozen pops for the neighborhood gang while we whistled and clapped and cheered for the garbage men who sometimes grabbed a cool drink from the hose, much to the amazement and delight of the cheering crowd of on lookers.

Garbage men rock. They rock heavy smelly trash hour after hour every day. Not many have gotten cheered, but Im nutz like that.

Be nutz.

Be Hyper vigilant in finding reasons to love the over looked and your life will be filled with love, like mine.

the art of war ...? consider thy enemy ? WTF?

It takes two to have a fight. does that mean, to not fight you get beat up? does it mean you become passive agressive? or manipulative? How will we shift our thinking as we move into the next millenium?

Someone said to me last week, this old phrase Ive been considering for the past several months : "keep your friends close, but your enemies closer".


I have never subscribed to this 'art of war'. I have my own theory that I have lived by and we can consider it here together.

I heard advise from one of my 'brothers in spirit' who is also gnostic, as I. He said that no GENERAL wants to blow up a bridge because you don't want to spend man power re-building it later."

I heard advise from an industry sister who gave details of watching what others are doing so you can 'get ahead of them' and succeed.

Then I opened the door to all and waited to see what happened, for the first time in my life "considering my enemies".



As a young mother I never 'considered my enemies' as far as the pedophiles in the community, I watched my own children. I kept them close and considered our family privacy and connection.
To use my sister's theory, I would have had to take my children to the park where the pedophiles were, and then watched the pedophiles and not so much my children. This art of war does not seem worth my consideration and brings me much less joy than the love of my household did.

I considered the chicken coup and the dreaded fox out back. To maintain the safety of my flock I would be forced to lay wake and guard them, or launch a hunt to destroy the fox. All of which would take my focus off the wily happenings within my hen house. Shall I return to rotten broken eggs and bow legged chicks? Or shall I remove the bridge.
