equality ; A generation of

The generation of equality.

We are a blessed generation.

As our lives blossomed, the universe unfolded both figuratively and literally. Sesame Street burned through the air waves drawing attention to the development of what a citizen of the world CAN BE, men stepped on the moon and explored the universe adjacent to our meager planet. Our frailty and vulnerability came to our awareness as a united population. The wars and famines from over seas came close to home in thunder clap at the flick of a switch; and the inquisitive mind of the next generation, OUR GENERATION was ignited. As we matured the world around us changed. We bent it to our will. Women gained the right to vote at the hand of our mothers, and at our hands she was freed. Domestic violence is not in toleration because of the strength of our generation, physical and mental handicaps are not a secret family shame because of our generation, people speak their minds, express themselves freely, quench their desire for knowledge, and consciously guide the minds of their own young as a direct result of the work of our generation.

As a matriarch and a giver of life I am hopeful and cautiously optimistic. We, the strong, the generation of equality, are prepared to make drastic changes in how we think and see each other. Together, as we listen to the needs of our inner spirit, we must allow it to express itself fully, truly, humanly.

We are all the same.

successful people

The reason successful people strive to travel in packs, why we are not petty about WHOSE success we are touting, is if its success in our circles. The reason we rejoice when others climb and strive to achieve their goals and gain strength and independence, is simple.
We understand the slippery road ahead; that with every success is 10,000 failures, for everyone ONE who celebrates with us 1000 think only of the 10 000 failures.
Successful people want EVERYONE to succeed, and when the day comes someone loose their footing, there will be many strong hands close by.

Encourage one another always.

Be blessed to be connected to one of the most successful bloggers, holding the number one spot in popularity on many modern scales of success .. and be blessed with strength and gratitude .. I too am glad I touched shoulders with YOU

more irritating than a full 'sand trap' in the webbed crotch of your bathing suit

For a total of three decades the hearts of praying mothers all over the world have been wretched, twisted and bloodgioned with bad news from our human female population here on earth.
From the cleansing in Bosnia, the exterminations of the Congo, to the recent news that the number of pregnant women carrying the HIV virus in South Africa, which has the world's biggest AIDS population, has inched up to 30.2 percent from 29.4 percent last year, according to health officials our women are in jeopardy.

From our sisters in Haiti to refugees in over crowded camps and even all across the Americas women, who are the nucleus of our race, are burdened with life-long life-risking stupidity of their male counter parts.

Women ARE the NUCLEUS, are the MATRIARCHS, ARE THE GIVERS OF LIFE.

It is the majority of your women that train your sons to be men and your daughters to be wives and mothers. It is woman-kind that holds the future near the bowels of her being. When you have women in your community living in fear, poverty, under duress, hungry, in the shame of misfortune, or the midst of physical violence, then you have a community whose entire future is at risk.

Diseased men impregnating entire populations, bands of torture some ignoramuses controlling countries, cities, and villages, killing of populations and ending blood lines will one day be a thing of the past. It will be something our great grandchildren read about with shame and disgust as if it were the darkest of ages.

so mote it be.

spare the rod ...

"Spare the rod and spoil the child" ; "foolishness is bound to the heart of a child but the rod of correction will drive it far from him"

Im not saying I didnt beat my kids, I surely did; they had to the count of five to answer me if I whistled for them or I'd be dragging the lake out back with my bare hands. It came as a relief to them, like a penance and offering for making me stand there before God being responsible for them. Dont make a mom worry for nothing, there is plenty to worry about, but obedience to an authority is a choice. The intricacies of family life can not be judged by the world outside but how can we not condemn the statement "take your beating like a women".

My heart goes out to this narrow-minded man who is probably doing the best he can. I can see him sitting proudly at the position of power with a pious mind and a heart with a desire to be God-like, better than other men. I find it sad that he feels this FORCE is acceptable. Its sad that he rages against how small he is, that he has no mercy on himself or sense of fairness for anyone else.

Use FORCE and PAIN even torture if necessary to cause others to submit to the will of power and you have a sad state of affairs. This must be how it is in Texas because we saw evidence of it with Bush and Guantanamo Bay. Shame, fear and pain have shaped how we make choices (as a race) for far too long. This is not civilization.

Be Not Afraid. Choose wisely.

I bet that judge wishes he was anonymous

Finding our way in the dark

The darkness seems to have its cycles of usefulness in my life. I feel it come to the core of my being at times. The absolute of the unknown. Those that are close to me can see it happen, and recognize it deep within themselves. As a sensitive, and suffering from ptsd, it is, as everything, magnified; whether in darkness or in absence of.
What I have come to respect of the darkness is its ability to purify the existence of self. Nothing exists but that which absolutely is. Everything else is shed. Perception, judgment, awareness, and ego are all abolished in the darkness. I think that because I am human and mortal that these cycles I go through are not singular to me and that everyone else that is human must experience this too.
I think I am thankful for the light that darkness itself sometimes shines on me. For example, many believe people like me are victims, and thats why we have this 'emotional scar' that ptsd is. The fact is, we are survivors. Stronger than others that did not survive anyway. Those hours of darkness 'proved me', purified me, taught me to be 100% true to myself. Purified of all falsehood.Reaching deep into the true self.
Some people run on longer and shorter cycles, but I believe generally we run on the cycles of the seasons. I know for me it starts around November. I begin to let go of everything I have created, accomplished or established, and run a low grinding energy of assimilation to whatever the years changes might bring Right after my birthday in January I usually start to feel a bit of anticipation for the growth to come.
In between there, thats where the darkness finds me each year. It teaches me who I am and what I am here to do. In darkness there is nothin but me, and the truth. I think I find my way in darkness better when I embrace it. I hope you learn to embrace that darkness in you. Life is so much brighter.

If you have any thoughts on darkness I hope you will participate in this blog by commenting.
I look forward to getting to know many of you.
